DuPont has named Jon D. Kemp as president of its Electronics & Communications business effective Nov. 1, succeeding David B. Miller who has elected to retire after 34 years of service to the company. Kemp will report to DuPont Executive Vice President James C. Collins, Jr.

Kemp joined DuPont in 2005 as part of the company’s Management Development Leadership Program. He has held leadership positions in sales, marketing and business development in several businesses, most recently as global business director, Circuit & Packaging Materials. Prior to DuPont, Kemp worked as a chief economist and business development manager for the Utah Office of Economic Development. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Utah and an MBA from the University of Virginia.

Miller joined DuPont in 1981 as an electrical engineer supporting the Atomic Energy Division at the Savannah River Works in Aiken, S.C. After becoming director, Investor Relations, Miller began a series of leadership positions in the Electronics & Communications business. Miller is a member of the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) board of directors. He serves as a member of the board of directors of the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce, and a trustee of the University of Virginia School of Engineering & Applied Science.
